Put simply, Inscryption is a masterpiece unlike anything else I’ve ever played. If you’re even remotely interested in any of the genres or subgenres Inscryption is listed to have, I strongly recommend you play it.
I’m honestly not even sure where to begin talking about Inscryption and why it’s so good. I could write paragraphs upon paragraphs about its masterful blending of a deck-builder card battler within an escape room, all built on the underpinning of a mysterious horror-like story and lore. I could write about how the game is really fun to “break”, with many unique and interesting card combinations that are fun to discover. I could write about the narrative and how it kept me glued to this game from start to finish for days. I could write about any number of things, and I cannot stress enough, that in every corner and crevice of Inscryption, you find an incredibly fun and well-designed game coupled with a unique twisty mystery of a story.
Now, I’m the type of person who enjoys writing long and drawn-out multi-paragraph extended novels of near-nonsense for my game reviews. I love informing potential purchasers about what they’re getting into. But I loved going in blind with this game, I feel like that’s a core part of the experience. So I just can’t bring myself to write in detail about anything else. Consider that a MASSIVE recommendation from me! I think this game has something to offer the vast majority of players out there, and I think the experience is worth the price and the trip. Please take my word for it!
